Events
Throughout the year, Marcus and the team at 148@Azabujyuban host an evolving calendar of intimate dinners, wine tastings and seasonal events. These are crafted around a region, a producer, a special ingredient or a moment in the year — and they fill up quickly. To be added to our notification list, simply contact us.
Recurring & seasonal events
Bespoke wine dinners
Multi-course menus paired with rare and unusual wines from Marcus's personal stock. Each dinner is built around a theme — a producer's vertical, a region's classic varieties, or a flight matched to a chef's menu — and seating is kept small so guests get plenty of the host's attention.
Chinese New Year @148
A celebration that nods to Marcus's heritage — a special menu blending Chinese-Australian flavours with the wine pairings that 148 is known for. Held annually around the Lunar New Year.
An Australian Christmas at 148 Azabujuban
Christmas, done the Aussie way. Long table, roast lamb or seafood, cold whites and warm reds, and that easygoing summer feeling — all of it transplanted to Azabujuban for the holiday season.
Belated boxing day buffet brunch
A late-December tradition: a relaxed brunch buffet to mark the end of the year, with sparkling, easy plates and the kind of unhurried afternoon that only happens once a year. Highlights of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race played on the screen.
Halloween Zombie Night
A favourite annual fixture — costumes encouraged, a buffet of "blackened crow", "smokey spiders" and "voodoo fondue", with all-you-can-drink zombie potions to match. Prizes for best dressed.
Brunch & Mother's Day
Sunday brunch in the Aussie style — eggs benedict, full breakfasts, fresh juices and a relaxed mid-morning service. Mother's Day brunches are a special occasion.
